ARROW The Asian-Pacific Resource & Research Centre for Women (ARROW) was formally established in 1993 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as a regional non-profit and non-governmental organisation concerned with ensuring that development policies and plans influencing women’s health status included women’s and gender perspectives. Global Partners in Action: NGO Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Development Global Partners in Action is led by NGOs and is for NGOs, with considerable emphasis placed on ensuring significant participation from the Global South and of young people.  Global Partners in Action will be a highly interactive working meeting, where participants will be able to contribute to approximately 30 breakout sessions, as participants, facilitators, resource persons or rapporteurs.  In addition, orientation sessions and regional meetings are being planned for the first day.  Participants will furthermore have the opportunity to network and share their work and experiences in a marketplace and at a global café.  Plenaries featuring high level speakers will also inspire Global Partners in Action.  Finally, all participants will be welcome to assist in the drafting process for the Call to Action throughout the duration of the Forum and outcomes from discussions in various sessions will feed into the Call to Action and an NGO Action Plan.

International Conference on Population and Development 15 years on.

In 2009 it will be 15 years since the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) in Cairo.

Here are some of the meetings that are planned. We will update this list regularly as we have more details.

Commonwealth Medical Trust Commat (the Commonwealth Medical Trust) is an independent organization, which exists for the promotion of health, the prevention of disease and disability and the advancement of human rights and medical ethics, particularly for the poor, vulnerable and marginalized groups in developing countries. It is concerned particularly with the role that should be played by health professionals and their associations in carrying out its programme, especially in Commonwealth countries. Partners in Population and Development "Partners in Population and Development (PPD) is the only organisation in the world fully dedicated to the promotion of South-South partnerships. PPD is an inter-governmental organisation (IGO), launched at the 1994 ICPD in Cairo. PPD has a unique mandate, which is cemented in the ICPD Programme of Action and the ICPD+5 document adopted in 1999 by the United Nations General Assembly. It recognizes that primarily governments and NGOs in the member countries are best able to address their own domestic challenges locally and address the shortcomings by sharing the successful experiences of other countries. The alliance is dedicated to forming partnerships between and among individuals, organizations and the governments of developing countries."
EuroNGOs ICPD @ 15 "EuroNGOs is a European network of non-governmental organisations that cooperate in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights, population and development."
